Community Sport Hubs /
North Carrick
North Carrick Community Sport Hub brings together local sports clubs and other community partners to develop and grow the sporting offering in the community of Troon.
Our principles:
Growth in participation
Understanding community need
Supporting community leadership
Ensuring all the right people are working together
Offering a range of sports
North Carrick CSH has been in operation since 2017 and there are a number of clubs community partners involved. The CSH has successfully received funding from PAR and the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) to make some much needed improvements to the Glebe pavilion in Maybole. These improvements were made during 2018/19 and a sports festival took place to launch the new look pavilion.Â

Coastal Rowing
About:
We are a coastal rowing club involved in recreational and competitive rowing and a member of the Scottish Coastal Rowing Association which has grown rapidly since beginning in 2010, with many clubs around Scotland.Â
We row out of Maidens Harbour in South Ayrshire and have just constructed our boathouse there to improve the use of our boats and increase their time on the water. We row in the St Ayles Skiffs which are seaworthy, clinker built (using modern construction methods), fixed seat rowing boats, for four rowers and a cox. Currently we have one in the water which was built at a local school, Carrick Academy and it is maintained by members of the Club, and another currently under construction (we are always looking for people to help maintain the boats if woodwork is more your thing than rowing!). The Club offers regular sessions, for those interested in competitive rowing, as well as social/recreational rowing for those who would prefer a gentler time on the water.

About:
Since we opened in 2012 we have grown and developed to be an integral part of the local community and surrounding area. Our centre is a modern, flexible and welcoming environment where people come to meet, greet, play, learn, socialise and do business. As part of our continual development we are keen to support new ventures and develop new partnerships with other organisations and venues who share our vision. We are a Registered Charity and Not-for-Profit Social Enterprise and work in partnership with key organisations and groups to provide the service required today and for the future from our facility. As well as being a facility for the residents of North Carrick, we are also a venue for visitors and tourists to and through the area and plan to continue to develop and grow our service to these customers.
